People have strong opinions on AI, and rightly so. Here's where I stand and how I use it.
Every creative decision and concept is human led. I believe creativity is always strongest when it comes from a human, and that comprehension and execution of a storyline is something AI can never replicate. It's my own experience, knowledge and judgement that lets Plated Content live by its values of authenticity and community.
Every idea comes from a real conversation and my own thinking — never from a prompt.
No generative video. No AI images. No synthetic voices. No AI actors. All filming and editing is done by me, by hand. If it's in your content, it happened.
AI is never used in any form of direct communication with clients or third parties. Every message you get from me is written by me.
AI plays a limited supporting role, used mainly for efficiency on routine work — research, admin, operational tasks, and as a sounding board once my own thinking is already down. Where it's used, it assists me rather than replacing my judgement. Every output is reviewed and approved by me before it goes anywhere.
Sensitive customer data and confidential information is never entered into AI tools without prior consent. All laws around data protection, GDPR compliance and information security are followed regardless of AI involvement.
Accountability — responsibility for all of my work sits with me, not with any tool I've used.
Environmental considerations — I stay informed on the environmental impact of AI so that I can make an accurate judgement before using these tools in my work.
Critical thinking — any output from an AI tool gets picked apart and considered properly before it's used in any form, and I always consider bias before relying on AI-derived information.
Transparency — I'll always be open and honest about how AI supports my work.
Privacy — I protect personal and organisational data in line with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
AI changes constantly, so I review how I use it regularly. I'd also encourage you to tell me your own position on it, so that nothing awkward comes up while we're working together.
Ask me directly — I'd rather have the conversation than have you wondering. luke@platedcontent.com
